Rabee Securities is hosting a three-day event at the Iraq Pavilion at EXPO 2020 in order to showcase Iraq’s top technology start-ups. The most promising entrepreneurs in Iraq will present their ideas and interested parties will have a chance to meet them one-on-one from 7-9 March.

Among the start-ups scheduled to attend are Miswag, Iraq’s largest e-commerce platform, and Alsaree3, Baghdad’s premier food delivery platform. Iraq’s biggest and most promising venture capital investments to date, both have raised millions of dollars in funding in recent years. Iraq’s start-up ecosystem will also be covered by Kapita, an organization that specializes in investment, research, and incubation/acceleration programs for SMEs.

Shwan Ibrahim Taha, Chairman of Rabee Securities, commented: “We want to show the world that Iraq offers more than just history and politics – we have promising entrepreneurs who are thinking strategically about how to grow businesses and achieve economic independence.”

On 7-8 March, Iraqi companies will present from 12pm-4pm, and there will be time for questions and one-on-one meetings with them. At 2pm on 9 March, Rabee Securities will present compelling information about market opportunities in Iraq, and personal meetings can be arranged on the same day.

At Expo 2020, the Iraq Pavilion is conveniently located near the Opportunity Gate entrance. Parking in the Opportunity area will make it easier to reach the pavilion. You can get a season pass finale ticket here, which gives you access to the Iraq Pavilion as well as all other exhibitions at the Expo for multiple entry dates.

U.S. stocks ended modestly higher Wednesday as long-term Treasury yields fell sharply. The S&P 500 rose 16.22 points, or 0.21%, to 7,707.98, ending a three-session losing streak. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 119.65 points, or 0.22%, to close at 53,463.05. The Nasdaq Composite added 41.38 points, or 0.16%, finishing at 26,331.09. Falling government bond yields helped major indexes recover after several sessions of pressure from rising borrowing costs. Bond prices climbed after the U.S. Treasury Department announced larger liquidity support buybacks for longer-dated government debt. Treasury yields moved lower following the announcement, reversing part of a recent rise in long-term borrowing costs. The 10-year Treasury yield fell to about 4.65%, while the 30-year yield declined to about 5.20%. Bond yields move inversely to prices, so stronger demand for government debt pushed yields lower. The retreat eased pressure that had accompanied the recent
